Busy Week

We finally have Brian back!!! It has been so much better. We ended up having a pretty busy week. My mom came for a couple days which was a lot of fun. The kids had so much fun getting to see her. We also had Mike and Kelli come over so that Mike could help us with some electrical stuff that came up. It all started with a visit from a handyman to simply repair a couple outlets. He left telling me that it were him he wouldn't sleep another night in our place without getting smoke detectors in every room. He said that the guy (the jerk) who previously owned our place thought he was a wiring genious and rigged up all these crazy things and that live wires were just sitting inside our walls. Needless to say both Brian and I were freaking out. Mike came to our rescue though. He is brilliant. He sorted everything out and checked everything in our walls. He did have to fix quite a bit of stuff, but it wasn't as horrible as our handyman made it out to be. We did learn some more really interesting stuff about the man who decked our home out as a bachelor pad. Apparently he had mounted a TV on his celing above his bed. Also, he had cut a square hole in our bathroom wall and put a TV there as well which helps to explain the surround sound in the bathroom. We know he had a TV in the kitchen as well. This guy was a nut. Here are the cords that Mike removed from our master bedroom walls.

My brother also stopped by to measure our built in TV shelves for custom cabinets. My brother has worked with custom cabinetry for many years now and he is hooking us up. Yea! I will post a before and after of that when we get them in.
We took the kids to Raging Waters on Saturday. It was quite the experience. Thankfully my sister Charisse ended up coming too. Looking back, we don't know how we would have done it without her there. Meg was a scaredy cat. She would not go down ANY slides. There were many tears. Finally she started playing in the kid land on a tiny park type slide. She also like the wave pool and the lazy river. At least she ended up having a good time. Adin loved the wave pool until a wave pushed him and Brian under the water. Then he was really freaked out and it was difficult to get him to go back in the water.

It is so wierd that summer is over and all of these swimming places are closed. This summer has flown by for us. I have always loved fall. Brian starts school tomorrow. He is completely freaking out. Not only does he not want to go but he said in all seriousness that he would rather work at pretzelmaker than go to school. I think that was a little dramatic but at least it shows how much he is dreading it. I am hoping that once things get moving at school and he knows what is going on that he will like it. Meg starts preschool in 3 weeks. That freaks me out. We'll keep you updated!

If Brian does go to work at Pretzelmaker, I expect deep discounts for all of us.

Wow! Your condo's personal history gets freakier by the minute. Are you laughing yet, or will that have to wait a while? I'm glad Mike was able to help. He definitely IS an electrical genius. Perhaps that's why they named their dog, Sparky. HA HA HA

Good luck with school, Brian. You can take out your anger on the fantasy football field. Go Bruce Dickinson!

I'm so glad you are posting again! My life has been so dull without them. Hopefully everyone will keep up blogs now that summer is over. I'm glad you had Charisse to help out at the pool. Your kids are sooo cute!

Did you get wiring plans. I don't know about anyone else, but a TV on the ceiling, wow, dream world. And I don't think I need to talk about how nice a bathroom TV would be. Of course if I had all that I wouldn't have a job because I would never leave home.

Of course, I am kidding.

Glad to see new posts!
