Peach Days Weekend

This past weekend was Peach days in Brigham City. Brian and I are big fans of Peach days. We both wondered what it was about peach days that made us like it so much. The parade always seems too long and the carnival ends up being kind of a trashy event. We decided that it is definately the family visit that we like so much. Watching a parade with the Droubay's is very entertaining. They all have really funny comments to make about everything. This year was no exception. The problem we ran into this year was and excessive amount of candy being thrown. Adin could not stop eating it. It was an eating fest for Adin and Gabi. I am surprised that neither of them ended up vomiting right there.

The carnival was very entertaining this year. We took the kids to ride some rides. Chris and Jeni have kids that are our kids exact same ages. It works perfectly because they love going together. It was so cute because Adin and Aliza rode together on a couple rides and every once in a while they would look at each other and start talking. We are not sure what they were talking about, but it was adorable. Aliza was also putting the moves on Adin. We made a classic Peach Days memory with Chris and Jeni. We were waiting in line for the kids to ride some trucks. All of a sudden a rather large hispanic woman decked another woman in the face. When the woman staggered from the blow the hispanic woman starting punching her in the back of the head. It was broken up and the lady that got punched left screaming, swearing and crying. The hispanic woman picked up her little girl (about Adin's size) and was checking her lip a lot. From what we could gather we think the girl that was beaten accidentally knocked this little girl over and her mother reacted by beating the woman up. It was crazy and a classic trashy Peach Days moment.

We stayed overnight mainly because we were too tired by night time but also because our kids love to visit grandma and grandpa 'bay. Adin seems to have a special bond with his grandpa 'bay and Meg said that she wanted to stay there forever. On Sunday, Brian needed some quiet time to do some reading for school. I decided to drive up to Logan with the kids and visit my grandma. It has been WAY too long since I have been up to see her even though it hasn't been nearly as long as she thinks it has. She thinks I haven't seen her since Meg was just a month or two old. Really I have seen her 4-5 times since then, but her memory is really going. She was really excited to see the kids and I hope that she remembers it. Even though she isn't completely with it it was still a lot of fun to see her.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Wow, that sounds like loads of fun. I love reading your blog. Not to make this about me, but my weekend consisted of (1)washing my bedsheets, (2) letting Annie lay in my bed after that because she has a cold and she likes our bed, I guess, and (3) listening in utter horror as she coughed so much she puked in my bed.

Ahhh. . . parenthood!

Peach days is always the bomb--a big mullet-wearing, Harley-riding bomb.
