I was feeling pretty proud of myself that I was posting something other than a birthday, but then I looked back and realized that I posted for Halloween last year to. So I guess this is nothing unusual.

Meg, on the other hand was very specific about each detail and even wanted her pumpkin to be winking. I think I'll carve for Adin every year.;)
October was a fun month for us this year. Since Brian was out of school, we were able to do a lot more Halloween-ish activities than we usually do. Brian suggested that we buy costumes this year so that I wasn't stuck sewing all month. It did make the season a lot more enjoyable, but at the same time I kind of missed it. :)

Meg chose to be a vampire queen. I am always very surprised by her choices. This year she really wanted to be something creepy.

Adin was supposed to be Harry Potter, and then it was a ninja. Finally he settled on a cowboy. It was super easy and I did end up sewing the chaps, but they were super easy and fast. Whenever the two of them were in costume Adin would always end up chasing Meg around trying to shoot her. He was protecting us from the vampire queen.
Trick-or-treating was fun but different this year. We usually go up to Brigham, because our neighborhood isn't very safe. The majority of our ward members are mixed up in a huge apartment complex. At the very last minute, we decided to stay here this year. It felt a little weird, and if we are here next year we'll probably go up to Brigham again. We went to our ward trunk-or-treat, which consisted of about 12 cars. Then we drove up to a neighborhood closer to Meg's school. We only saw one other set of trick-or-treaters the entire time. The neighborhood had mostly elderly couples who don't get many kids coming by so they would give tons of treats. Their bags were fuller than they have ever had them and we just went up one side of the street and back down the other. It made for a quick night, but we like going somewhere familiar.
We hosted the First Annual Marchant Halloween Shin-dig (thanks to Sarah for getting the ball rolling). I thought it was tons of fun and hopefully we'll do it next year. I have more pictures that I need to email out, but I thought I would include a few. First, the cousins. This was a was the best that I got. I don't think Adin was making Nate feel too secure.

The Safari theme

No theme, but a personal favorite. :)
Last but far from least, the Droubay Halloween Extravaganza. I know I said this last year, but I love this event best of all the Droubay get-togethers. It's always so fun and our kids think of this first when we talk about Halloween.
Here's me with Adin's pumpkin creation. He just wanted everything jagged.
Meg, on the other hand was very specific about each detail and even wanted her pumpkin to be winking. I think I'll carve for Adin every year.;) I may have stolen this from Amy. I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I wanted more pictures of cousins.

Kids with Aliza and Gabi.

Stay tuned. Adin's birthday is a short two weeks away so I should have another post coming.

Yeah!!!! It worked!! I loved it, I was laughing through the whole thing! That is so weird about the trick or treating, we had a TON of kids this weird, it was weird but at least they brought in the loot. Can you email me that picture of me and kory? I think it would be a fun addition to our adoption pictures.
I meant this year, btw. :-)
